I will NEVER, EVER, EVER buy a subscription.
They are all a scam, and I am not willing to have my bank hit with unmanageable charges every monty.
It's a good scam for reoccurring revenue, and you hope people lose track, or forget about it, because it's a small fee.
But they all add up, and there' s no way I will get sucked in to a single one.

I will however purchase one time, the ones I want, if that ever becomes available again.
Many of the comments on this subject are dead-on.
I can appreciate the effort, but I do not need access to them all, only one.
Who would even need that? It's just plain unreasonable.

Go to buy a Coke, and they force you to buy Diet Coke too, because they spent time making it? But it's much worse, you want people to buy every single product, every flavor, every size, and variation, even if they don't want it.

There's no justification.

For gaming, I can understand, for some people, they like to play all of the games, and a sub might be nice. There are still the people that just play one or a few, and don't want the sub.
But really? who is going to play with calculators? Makes no sense at all for this type of software.

I was just looking for a single app for my old Casio, and was happy to find it, then the massive let down of reality. A monthly fee? Really?

No thank you.

Hi ,
On Android, if you buy any product the Load ans Save feature will be enabled.
So just buy the PC-1250 for example and you will be able to SAVE and LOAD with the PC-1245 too.

I too was interested in a one-time payment, but only for the Sharp PC-1245, which I used to own. It died, so I was happy to find the emulator. Hi,
PockEmul for Windows needs to be activated from an active PockEmul Subscription.
It is explained in the PockEmul 2.1.0 Release post: <a href="https://pockemul.com/index.php/2020/11/10/pockemul-2-1-0-one-more-step-to-pockemul-everywhere/">https://pockemul.com/index.php/2020/11/10/pockemul-2-1-0-one-more-step-to-pockemul-everywhere/#more-1307</a>

I use Pockemul with the old pay model on Android for some systems. Now I have also tried the current Windows version. But there is no menu item "storage". Is it no longer possible to save the status of a system in the current Windows version? Or is it done differently now? In the old version 1.4.3 there was this menu entry.

I personally been tinkering with some devices that appeal to me. As an early adaptor to the original pockemul and I don't fancy any subscription even if it's a penny a month and ongoing for me it's simple, choose what you like from the range and keep it , no worries about online subscription which do have their own problems . If we could just pay what we want and carry on. For others who maybe casual or new the subscription model may suit them.

Thank you so much for your feedback.
I will think about the dual business model.
By the way, if you subscribe you will never loose permanent right of use from your past purchases. If you stop the subscription, your purchases remain valid.

In reply to <a href="https://pockemul.com/2020/09/22/pockemul-2-0-0-new-subscription-model/#comment-4617">pockemul</a>.

I think that most users do not really want to emulate ALL old systems. Probably there is also no one who really uses this software productively. In most cases it might be pure nostalgia to be able to emulate the old systems we learned to program with about 40 years ago. With a monthly fee, the question arises every month whether this nostalgia is worth this price. Sooner or later I would answer this question with "no", because it is nothing I really need permanently professionally. With a lifetime license, it's a one-time decision that I want this software. After that, I don't have to make a new decision every month.

With the old purchase model, I had decided to buy several times. If the Ti-74 Basicalc was now also available in the purchase model, I would buy it immediately, even for $20. But if I would change to the subscription model now, then I would lose the permanent right of use from the existing purchases.

My suggestion would be: Parallel to the subscription model also lifetime licenses for individual emulators for a purchase price of 10-20 dollars per emulator.

Regards
