The HP‑41CX had gone far too long without any updates in PockEmul. I believe the next area of development will focus on the HP‑IL module.
- Internal Extended Memory up to 600 registers
- Overlays management
- Raw file management
Internal Extended Memory
The Extended Memory module was already available, but a PockEmul fan requested that it be integrated directly inside the system without occupying multiple module slots. This is now possible through the contextual menu.
Overlays
Overlays are now accessible either via the contextual menu or by tapping the tab used to hold them in place. Custom overlays cannot yet be added, but I hope to include this feature in a future release.
Raw file management
RAW file management is now supported using PockEmul’s library system for files, disks, and memory modules.
- External files can be added to the library, and as many subfolders as needed can be created.
- The contents of the HP‑41’s memory can also be saved as a RAW file.
- Any RAW file in the library can be shared through the host system’s sharing features (sharing on Android or iOS, or copying to the clipboard on desktop).
Licenses
Of course, all these new features are available to subscribers.
In addition, a new package has been created that includes module management, printer support, and the “extended” features, along with an upgrade package that adds the new functionalities.
In the next release, only the global package—including all HP‑41CX features—will remain available.
